The federal government claimed in court proceedings that “an American citizen questioning the safety or efficacy of masks or a vaccine” often wouldn’t be protected speech under the first amendment. The judge is case accusing the federal government of colluding with social media companies to illegally censor Americans, was highly critical of the comments: “The judge asked the feds if they had ever read George Orwell’s 1984, pointing out the similarities between the case and the book.”
