New details came out of testimony in the House. Hunter Biden left his laptop with a repair shop who turned it over to Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani turned the actual laptop over to the FBI who verified it was authentic in December 2019, but they believed the contents were copied and would be leaked.
The FBI notified social media companies about an upcoming leak of Russian disinformation in the run-up to the 2020 election.
That’s all old news. The new revelation is that social media companies specifically asked the FBI whether the laptop story was authentic or not. The FBI refused to answer, leaving social media companies to assume this was a part of the previously warned Russian disinfo leak.
